| I Google the most useless crap as a source of entertainment. I dream about zombies quite a bit, and lately, it's making me question my sanity. I like things that decorate the night sky, like lightning, fireworks, & city lights from lookout points. Oh, and I tend to spend a lot longer than I should reading the graffiti in bathroom stalls. |
Just a quick question for you. I was wondering what you did for the tie when you cosplayed as Ema for avcon? Im really not sure how to do it and i wanna get it done for Animania.
Thanks!

One day we will look back at this, laugh nervously, and change the subject
My friend Jem made it for me, all she did was cut out the pattern from the material (four 'tie' shaped triangles and then one little one for the 'knobbly' bit), sew it together with a machine and she included cardboard inside to make it still and stay in place.
She also used a hot glue gun to secure it all together.
It was just secured loosely around my neck with velcro tabs that she bought from Spotlight.
I probably just confused you so much more, didn't I? xD
If you'd like, I can call her tomorrow and ask for a step by step account of the process?
xx.

I have examined it a little more thoroughly and it looks like she sewed the points into what looks like pointy socks (for lack of a better word xP), inserted the cardboard to hold the shape and then enclosed it by stitching the tops up. The 'tie knot' was done in the same way, and then superglued on top of the other two to form the bow.
she then superglued the white fabric on top to form the V pattern, superglued the thin strip of fabric onto the back of the 'knot' to form the part which went around my neck, the velcro tabs were also superglued on top of that.
I think she enjoyed working with a hot glue gun a little too much.
Haha.
That probably wasn't much help either :c
What part are you stuck with exactly?
